Eiffel Tower admirers who have $40,000-$60,000 lying around could bring a part of the famous landmark home with them.
A section of the Eiffel Tower's original staircase will soon be auctioned off. The 13-foot spiral staircase section features 25 steps and dates to 1889.
This stairway connected levels two and three until 1983 when the elevators were installed.
Other sections of the original staircase are located in the Musee d'Orsay, Cite des sciences, and Musee de l'Histoire du Fer in France, in the Yoishii Foundation gardens in Japan, and near the Statue of Liberty in New York.
The section that's for sale is currently on public display at Artcurial's courtyard at the Rond-pont des Champs-Elysees.
The auction is set to be held today, November 27th.
While Artcurial estimates that the steps are worth $40,000-$60,000, in the past, some sections of the Eiffel Tower's staircase sold for $249,000 and $593,000, according to CNN.
