Tour These Famous 'Ghostbusters' Filming Locations in New York City

The beloved supernatural comedy Ghostbusters turns 40 in 2024 and is celebrating with the premiere of the franchise's fifth film on March 22.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will take viewers on another wild ride through New York City.

TravelPulse recently explored some of the franchise's top filming locations with On Location Tours.

Here are some of the memorable sites Ghostbusters fans won't want to miss on their next visit to the Big Apple.

 

Tavern on the Green

The iconic Central Park restaurant, Tavern on the Green, is featured in Ghostbusters during the scene in which Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) is attempting to escape the demon dog.

Hook and Ladder Company 8

The famous Hook and Ladder Company 8 firehouse in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood serves as the Ghostbusters headquarters.

55 Central Park West

Movie fans will recognize 55 Central Park West as Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) apartment.

New York County Courthouse

The New York State Supreme Court Building, originally known as the New York County Courthouse, in Manhattan's Civic Center neighborhood is where the busters are on trial in the second film.

New York Public Library

The New York Public Library's Rose Reading Room is where Bill Murray's Dr. Peter Venkman and Dan Aykroyd's Raymond Stantz join Egon Spengler, played by Harold Ramis.

National Museum of the American Indian

Located in the historic Alexander Hamilton US Custom House at One Bowling Green in lower Manhattan, the National Museum of the American Indian was used for the Manhattan Museum of Art in 1989's Ghostbusters II.

Revson Fountain

The Revson Fountain at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in Manhattan's Lincoln Square neighborhood is where Dana and Venkman meet.

Trump Tower

Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan is featured in Ghostbusters II when the crew commandeer the Statue of Liberty and begin walking through the city.

Brooklyn Bridge in New York City

Brooklyn Bridge and City Hall

In the original Ghostbusters, troops are gathered at the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City Hall just across the East River.

Pier 34

Pier 34 at Hudson River Park is where the ghost Titanic docks in the second film.
