The Grand Canyon is known for many things including its majestic beauty and awe-inspiring size.

Soon, however, it will also be a place where adventurous visitors can participate in zip lining.

The Hualapai (pronounced WAHL'-uh-peye) have announced that they will expand tourist offerings on the canyon's west rim to include a pair of zip lines that will take participants nearly 1,000 above a side canyon. Each zip line will carry four (brave) people, according to the Associated Press.

Grand Canyon West, which lies just outside the boundaries of the formal national park, attracts about one million visitors annually.

The location is best known for its Skywalk, a glass bridge stretching 70 feet from the canyon's wall to provide intrepid visitors with a stellar view of the Colorado River some 4,000 feet below. Visitors can also participate in aerial tours from Grand Canyon West, river excursions and choose to spend the night in one of 26 rustic Hualapai Ranch cabins.

Each of the cabins faces the Grand Canyon's rim and has a front porch where guests can sit and admire the view, and enjoy the recently opened restaurant at the popular tourist site

The same tribal corporation that manages all of these offerings will be operating the new zip line attraction, which is scheduled to open in January.

Grand Canyon National Park meanwhile, has been attracting record numbers of visitors. In 2016, for the first time ever, the Arizona park received six million visitors. That was a nine percent increase over the 5.52 million visitors in 2015.
