WWE Superstar Heath Slater closed 2017 on a pretty awkward note.
According to FoxNews.com, 34-year-old Slater was on a flight to Miami for Monday Night Raw on December 31 when he got stuck in an airplane bathroom after the knob on the inside of the door broke off as he attempted to exit.
After learning of the WWE Superstar's plight, crew members on the flight jumped into action and unhinged the door to the bathroom before forcefully unlatching the lock with a screwdriver. A short time later, Slater was freed from the tiny commode.
At the time of the incident, Slater was traveling with fellow WWE Superstar Curtis Axel, who managed to film the rescue. Slater posted the video on Instagram, but be warned, some of the language is NSFW:
"I locked it and then I went to unlock it and the knob came off and I'm like, 'Oh you gotta be kidding me'," Slater said after getting out of the bathroom.

Slater later said the restroom was becoming very hot while he waited to be rescued, but he was thankful to the crew for freeing him from his mid-flight ordeal.
The WWE Superstars made it successfully to their Florida destination, and Slater was on the New Year's Day edition of Raw where he lost to Braun Strowman.
