After another year of record-breaking travel numbers, the
industry took another significant step forward on Thursday night with the 2024
edition of the Travvy Awards.
The 10th annual Travvy Awards took place on November 7 at
the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center, and was hosted by
Northstar Travel Group’s TravelPulse.com and AGENTatHOME.
The ceremony was sponsored by Allianz Partners, as well as ALG
Vacations, Dominican Republic Tourism Board, Fiesta Americana Travelty
Collection, Greek National Tourism Organization, Los Cabos Tourism Board,
Majestic Resorts, Nayarit Tourism Board, Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, Sandos
Hotels & Resorts, Victory Cruise Line, and Hoteles Xcaret.
“Northstar is all about championing travel, and the Travvy
Awards are a program dedicated to honoring just that,” said Eric Bowman,
Executive Editor of TravelPulse. “The strides taken in every segment of the
industry—from air, rail, technology, and tour operators to hotels, rentals,
destinations, cruise lines, and more—is inspiring. These organizations are
incredibly deserving of the recognition bestowed upon them in winning a Travvy
Award.”
Thousands of votes were cast in more than 140 categories by
readers of AGENTatHOME and TravelPulse.com, with over 300 statuettes being
handed out. In addition to being honored at the lavish awards gala, the Travvy
Award winners will be showcased in AGENTatHOME Magazine and profiled on
TravelPulse.com, which was co-located with sister event, CruiseWorld.
The Travvy Awards also recognized Stacy Ritter,
CEO/President, Visit Lauderdale; Michele Saegesser, Vice President, Sales and
National Accounts, Viking; and Roger Block, President, Travel Leaders Network
with Hall of Fame Awards.
“This was our largest Travvy Awards in the 10-year history
of this event. It’s wonderful to see this program grow along with the
industry,” said Maura Lee-Byrne, Senior Vice President and Group Publisher,
TravelPulse and AGENTatHOME. “To look around the ballroom at hundreds of
industry colleagues celebrating their successes gives us all so much to be
excited about for the year ahead!”
The inaugural Champion of Women in Travel Award, sponsored
by Windstar Cruises, was also awarded to Gloria Bohan, CEO of Omega World
Travel. Finalists from the first class of TravelPulse’s 40 Under 40 were also
publicly recognized at the Travvy Awards.
