Allianz Named Top Travel Insurance Provider at 2018 Travvys

As a year filled with natural disasters, 2017 proved that travel insurance is more important than ever.

Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean were all struck with record-breaking hurricanes, and many of these destinations are still working to recover.

California's famed wine country meanwhile struggled with devastating wildfires. (And these are just a few examples of the unexpected events that impacted travel during the past year.)

Amid such difficult situations, when travel must be canceled or cut short, travel insurance policies are critical, often providing reimbursement for travel costs as well as any expenses incurred if you have to fly home early.

At the 2018 Travvy Awards, the industry recognized the insurance companies that provided the most outstanding service during the past year.

Two award recipients were named. The gold award for Best Travel Insurance Provider went to Allianz Global Assistance and the silver to AIG Travel.
