As Americans begin to kick off their 2024 travel planning,
metasearch engine Skyscanner
has launched a pop-up consulting Everywhere Agency connecting travelers with a
collective of five record-breaking travelers who have visited every country in
the world.
Though the majority of American vacationers are open to
visiting new destinations, they admit there are struggles involved.
Skyscanner’s survey
of 2,000 US vacation goers revealed that:
- 91 percent of travelers are keen to visit
somewhere new in 2024, but 15 percent struggle to discover any new
destinations.
- Amidst the current fatigue felt towards
conventional tourist hotspots, 85 percent of travelers feel that the same
destinations are perpetuated by social media, TV and film.
- Contrary to the repetitive echo chamber of
social media recommendations, 69 percent of vacation-goers affirm that they
place higher trust in advice from seasoned travelers who’ve explored
extensively themselves.
- 51 percent of travelers admit that the prospect
of booking travel in 2024 is overwhelming.
- 52 percent attribute their apprehensions to the
cost of travel, with 37 percent saying it stems from deciding where to go.
- 28 percent of American travelers estimate return
flights for 2024 travel to cost over $700 per person. An ‘Everywhere’ search on
Skyscanner however, reveals prices from as little as $70 from Toronto, Canada
or $84 from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
To that end, Skyscanner’s Everywhere Agency will provide
travel advice to help consumers navigate their way through the myriad of
recommendations available for their 2024 vacations.
Travelers can book a 10-minute Everywhere Appointment video call with one of the
five agents and receive an online Everywhere Guide packed with agents’
recommendations.
'Everywhere' displays destinations by price. If undecided about
where to go, travelers can simply input ‘Everywhere’ as their destination, and
Skyscanner will show the cheapest flights to destinations outside of
traditional algorithms that they may have not considered.
Laura Lindsay, Skyscanner’s Global Travel and Destinations
Expert says, “The Everywhere Agency is not just about offering alternatives;
it’s about inspiring a shift in perspective. Through exclusive 1:1 sessions
with record-breaking travelers and recommendations that go beyond the ordinary
on the Everywhere Guide, we hope to empower and equip travelers with the tools
needed to discover and enjoy destinations that they didn’t even know they
desired.’’
Skyscanner Snapshots
Destination unknown? Skyscanner’s Everywhere Guide can advise
travelers on where to have the most memorable night out to where to get the
best street food in 2024.
‘Everywhere’ is the top search destination for adventurous
Americans on Skyscanner in 2023 and continuing through the new year. Ordered from
the lowest to the highest price, travelers can search options from their departure
airport to destinations around the globe.
The flexible date search allows the best chances of finding
a bargain as flight prices are all based on supply and demand. Skyscanner’s ‘cheapest
month’ search tool allows users to see the cheapest flights at a glance and
choose the best deal.
Setting up price alerts ensures travelers are the first to
know when prices drop with any additional discounts or added supply. Travelers
mark their interested flight and Skyscanner will email them when the price goes
up or down.
