Black Friday and Cyber Monday are epic shopping days, even in the travel world where globetrotters are looking to score a bargain.

With the year-end shopping extravaganza rapidly approaching, Skyscanner recently polled its website users to gauge the intentions with regard to travel purchases.

When asked whether a travel purchase is on their post-Thanksgiving spending list, there was an even split among respondents, with 37.3 percent saying it is and another 37.3 percent saying it's not.

Of those who are looking for travel deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a resounding 67.7 percent of users said they're shopping for international destinations.

But are Black Friday travel booking prices really, truly cheaper, in the same way, that a shirt or a pair of shoes might be on sale in a department store? Skyscanner has your answer.

Its research shows that the response to that question is a resounding yes.

Look at Tokyo for instance. The yearly average price to the Japanese capital is $921. But the Black Friday price is just $650, which is a 29 percent savings.

Barcelona offers up another example of this reality. The yearly average price to the city is $643, but the Black Friday price is $534, a 17 percent savings.

London is another destination where you'll saving money via Black Friday pricing. The average yearly price to the home of royalty is $727, but the Black Friday price is $636, a 13 percent decrease.

Have you been itching to visit Amsterdam? Mark your calendar for Black Friday and snatch up a ticket. While the average price throughout the year to the city is $719, the Black Friday price is $628.

Skyscanner's data analysis also reveals that domestically, users searched and booked trips to two cities more than any other for the legendary Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping days - New York City and Los Angeles.

Rounding out the top 10 most searched destinations for the two dates is Orlando, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, Denver, and Washington D.C.

Internationally, meanwhile, the top searched destinations for Black Friday and Cyber Monday are Tokyo, London, Paris, Cancun, Rome, Barcelona, Dublin, Mexico City, Bangkok, and Manila.

Skyscanner also helpfully compiled a list of the cheapest destinations for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Though, truth be told, the results may be less than appealing.

Buffalo, a city typically buried in giant mounds of snow this time of year, topped the list of cheap destinations for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The remaining top 10 budget-friendly destinations are likely more appealing to those put off by frigid temperatures and include Oakland (definitely warmer than Buffalo), Denver, Tampa, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Orlando, Santa Ana, and New Orleans.

Internationally, if you're looking to score a bargain, consider some of the following cities for Black Friday and Cyber Monday: Fort de France; Toronto, Montreal, Cancun, Fortaleza, Calgary, Monterrey, Santo Domingo, Vancouver and Reykjavik.

Finally, in yet another bit of helpful data, Skyscanner revealed the airlines that offer the best deals for domestic and international destinations.

Its research found that Spirit Airlines historically offers the best deals for popular domestic destinations, as well as select international destinations such as Colombia and Mexico.

The top airlines offering the most deals on international travel include Lufthansa, for Germany and Spain-bound travel, and Norwegian Air if you're considering Ireland or the Netherlands.
