U.S. News & World Report has revealed its 2023-2024 “Best Travel Rewards Programs” winners for travelers who are searching for the best loyalty programs in the industry.
It analyzed both hotel and airline rewards programs and examined numerous factors, including ease of earning free flights or stays, property and flight availability, complimentary checked bags, discounted room rates, and elite member perks.
The rankings celebrate the top 10 airline reward programs and top 15 hotel reward programs.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and Wyndham Rewards were the respective winners, with Alaska’s program holding the top airline spot for the ninth year in a row.

The frequent flyer program rankings are based on a scoring algorithm, which computes scores based on ease of earning a free round-trip flight (45% weight), additional benefits (25% weight), network coverage (10% weight), number of daily flights (10% weight), airline quality rating (5% weight), and award flight availability (5% weight).
Similarly, the hotel rewards program rankings use a scoring algorithm but uses the factors of ease of earning a free night (45% weight), additional benefits (25% weight), geographic coverage (15% weight), number of hotels in the network (10% weight), and property diversity (5% weight).
