Travel Blog of the Day: I Am Aileen
Features & Advice Tom Bastek February 27, 2015

The internet is laden with blogs about travel. You don’t have time to read them all because you are still shoveling trying to find your car. This column will allow you to sift through the schlock and get ready for the next big storm! Check us out on twitter at #travelblogoftheday.
Most people at the age of 21 are thinking about starting their life. They are graduating school, getting their first “real” job and starting to think about responsibility. Or they just say, “The heck with it,” quit their job and travel the world! That is where today’s blogger is totally coming from.
Aileen Adalid knew at a young age that the corporate world was not for her. Graduating university by the age of 19, she was immediately scooped up by banking behemoth Deutsche Bank. After working for them and being miserable doing what she thought she should do, Aileen gave it up and went on the road. She created, designed and wrote to earn her way, and she never looked back.
Today she is the proud owner of Adalid Gear, where she and her boyfriend Jonas sell outdoor and workout gear. She handles the web design, the online marketing and the SEO of the site. She also re-launched her blog, which has been in existence since 2008, to focus more on not just her travels, but also to help inspire others to travel, too.
Aileen offers tips on life and travel, cuisine discoveries and cooking adventures (personally, my favorite part) and a destination guide for the places that she has visited. Europe and Asia are her mainstays but she has plans to see the rest of the continents as well. Oh, and the web design is great, too!
So check her out. Whether you are looking for tips and advice, in need of layout and design, or just need a good story during your 10 a.m. coffee break you are sure to find something here to fit the need.
