National Fishing Month is in full swing, but time is running out to celebrate with your fellow anglers.

The annual summer event concludes Labor Day Weekend. So, grab your rod and tackle box for one last summer fishing trip.

Regardless of whether you're a rookie or a pro, there's no shortage of phenomenal spots to drop a line.

Lake Jean

Pennsylvania's Lake Jean is an ideal place to relax and fish no matter the time of year. Located in northeast Pennsylvania's Ricketts Glen State Park, the 245-acre lake is home to trout, bass, crappie, bluegill and a whole lot more.

If you can't make it to the Northeast before National Fishing Month wraps up next month, plan a winter visit for ice fishing between November and March.

Lake of the Ozarks

You don't have to have seen the Netflix series "Ozark" to know that this massive Missouri reservoir is a beloved summer destination for fishing enthusiasts.

Those anglers seeking one last catfish dinner before the end of summer will want to make a last-minute journey to the Midwest. Here, you'll find blue, channel and flathead species of catfish that seek out both live and dead bait.

The Delta

Anglers on the West Coast should look no further than California's Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta for their next fishing getaway.

The Delta is home to nearly two dozen species of fish, including salmon, bass, trout and sturgeon. It also doesn't hurt that Northern California's weather is quite suitable for fishing this time of year.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

The Gulf Shores and Orange Beach areas of Alabama are an angler's paradise thanks to the immense variety of fishing offered.

More experienced fishermen and women can easily book a charter with one of the region's many experienced captains, while rookies or casual hobbyists can drop a line from the Gulf State Park Pier, which offers nearly 2,500 feet of fishing space.

Florida Keys

If Alabama's Gulf Coast offers tremendous variety, the Florida Keys offer unparalleled scope.

The region, which comprises a 125-mile stretch of islands, is home to both diverse places and species to fish. The Keys feature flats and backcountry fishing as well as deep sea, bridge and reef fishing.

The list of what you can catch goes on almost longer than the Keys themselves.
