Travel Leaders Network’s (TLN) International Summit, which took place in Tenerife, Spain, March 14-16, epitomized how tourism boards are working with travel advisors to attract future visitors, TLN said.
“Tenerife is a spectacular destination that many North American travelers have yet to discover,” said Travel Leaders Network President Lindsay Pearlman.
“By working closely with our travel advisors and giving them firsthand experience of the destination, Visit Tenerife is helping ensure more travelers will consider the island when planning their next trip,” he added.
The annual Summit included an exclusive group of TLN agency owners and managers, “for an immersive destination experience designed to translate firsthand knowledge into future sales,” TLN said.
To qualify, advisors were required to create a marketing plan detailing how they would promote and sell Tenerife once they returned home. t.
“During the Summit, advisors explored the destination through curated experiences including whale watching excursions, vineyard visits, cultural tours and exploration of Teide National Park. Business sessions provided destination insights from Visit Tenerife alongside marketing tools and resources from Travel Leaders Network designed to help advisors promote and sell the destination,” TLN said.
“Travel advisors play a key role in introducing North American travelers to destinations they may not yet know,” said Tenerife Tourism Board CEO Dimple Melwani. “Strategically partnering with Travel Leaders Network helps us build relationships with top-tier advisors who can inspire travelers to discover Tenerife.”
Tenerife also participates in Travel Leader Network’s industry events, including the annual EDGE conference and Internova Travel Group’s Destination FOCUS – as well as through the network’s ongoing marketing programs.
“For tourism boards, these relationships provide a direct pathway to advisors who influence destination choices every day,” TLN said.
