If you're planning a trip to New York City in 2016 there's good news; you don't have to wait for your tax refund to book a hotel room. That's because there are a handful of discount hotel packages available.
Here we'll highlight a trio of deals perfect for travelers on a budget.
Three Star: Hotel Edison
New York's three-star Hotel Edison is an ideal accommodation for visitors planning a trip to Broadway to take in a show or road warriors looking for a comfortable hotel where they can maximize productivity.
Currently, travelers can book a two-night package for as little as $171.50 per person (double occupancy) through New York City Vacation Packages (NYCVP). Plus, guests can book directly through the hotel's website to receive savings of up to 25 percent on their stay of two nights or more. Guests who take this route will also receive complimentary pizza each night of their stay.
Amenities at Hotel Edison include gift and beauty shops, a fitness center and business center. The latter two are open 24 hours.
Complimentary activities include neighborhood walking tours and wine and cheese receptions accompanied by live music performances.
Four Star: Hudson Hotel
Travelers eyeing a trendier hotel in the Big Apple this winter should consider the Hudson Hotel.
This four-star luxury boutique hotel is available for two nights for as little as $177 per person through NYCVP. The special package includes continental breakfast. Just in time for the holiday, the hotel is also offering a Valentine's Day package that includes breakfast and champagne for two.
But the dining experiences at the Hudson Hotel aren't limited to your guestroom. There are a handful of settings to relax and unwind, including the Sky Terrace, Library Bar and the Hudson Bar.
Those who book directly through the hotel's website can save up to 35 percent.
Five Star: New York Palace
Although more expensive than Hotel Edison and the Hudson Hotel, the Lotte New York Palace remains a relatively affordable five-star experience.
On select weekdays, travelers can book a two-night package through NYCVP starting at $336.50 per person.
Inside New York Palace, there's no shortage of meeting and event space. But it's the luxury amenities guests are certain to fall in love with, including the spa and 24-hour laundry service. The Palace, which boasts a history dating back to 1882, is also pet-friendly and within a short distance of Manhattan's top attractions.
With the hotel's Winter Weekend Getaway package, guests who book and stay before April 24, 2016 can save up to 20 percent on two-night stays and up to 25 percent on three-night stays when they reserve their room through the hotel's official website.
