February might be a short month, but that doesn’t mean it’s short on some really important hotel and resort news!
Check out our curated list of the biggest news you should know about hotels and resorts down below, including some exciting new renovations, reopenings—especially in Jamaica following last year’s hurricane—and announcements about new resorts.
New Hotel & Resort Openings

Every month, we report on the new hotels and resorts that are currently in development or celebrating recent openings, and February was no different.
There’s a few exciting new developments to look forward to.
First, is the new Four Seasons' 65th anniversary this year. To celebrate, the luxury hotel and resort company is opening the Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel in Venice, and launching its new yacht segment, Four Seasons Yachts. There are also several other new openings and renovations, so be sure to check out the full story.
Heading to the Middle East, family-friendly resort brand Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts will be developing a new hotel in Muscat, Oman. The resort will offer 120 rooms and residences, themed dining venues, a waterpark and plenty of kid-friendly entertainment and programming to enjoy.
In February, Marriott celebrated the opening of Crystal Cove Barbados, a Tribute All-Inclusive Resort. Located on the western coast of Barbados, it marks the first Tribute Portfolio all-inclusive resort. The 88-room resort offers two restaurants, a cafe, dining at sister properties, watersports and much more.
Hyatt Hotels also celebrated a new resort opening in February: Alila Mayakoba. The new resort is located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and offers 182 rooms, suites and villas. Six dining venues, a spa and more round out the resort experience.
Reopenings & Renovations

Beyond the new resorts just opened or in development, we’ve also covered plenty of renovation news and great news for Jamaica: resorts reopening post-hurricane.
Following Hurricane Melissa, the Eclipse at Half Moon, an iconic Jamaican resort, will reopen April 2.
Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway will also reopen on April 1 following repairs and renovations. Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica will undergo a full renovation and reopen next December.
Additionally, major brands including Sandals and Princess resorts have already reopened to guests, though Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast will be reopening this May following renovations.
Beaches Turks & Caicos announced its latest expansion, Treasure Beach Village, will open for guests starting March 1, 2026. The addition includes 11 new room and villa categories for families to choose from, new amenities and new dining venues.
