Sandals and Beaches resorts across the Caribbean are getting new names that put each property’s location front and center.

The change was announced on social media by Gary Sadler, executive vice president of sales and industry relations for Unique Vacations.

“Travel advisors, we’ve got some NEW names across Sandals and Beaches, and I want you to know them!,” Sadler wrote.

“The Caribbean has always been at the heart of these resorts, and now the names are putting the destinations front and center!,” he added.

Same resorts, new names

As part of the newly announced changes, the following resorts are being renamed:

  • Sandals Royal Bahamian: Changes to Sandals Bahamas Nassau.
  • Sandals Grande Antigua: Changes to Sandals Antigua
  • Sandals Royal Curacao: Changes to Sandals Curacao
  • Sandals Montego Bay: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Montego Bay.
  • Sandals South Coast: Changes to Sandals Jamaica South Coast
  • Sandals Royal Caribbean: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay
  • Sandals Dunns River: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Dunns River
  • Sandals Negril: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Negril
  • Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Ocho Rios
  • Sandals Royal Plantation: Changes to Sandals Jamaica Royal Plantation
  • Sandals Grande St. Lucian: Changes to Sandals St. Lucia Grand Bay
  • Sandals Regency La Toc: Changes to Sandals St. Lucia La Toc
  • Sandals Halcyon Beach: Changes to Sandals St. Lucia Halcyon Beach
  • Sandals Saint Vincent & the Grenadines: Changes to Sandals Saint Vincent
  • Beaches Negril: Changes to Beaches Jamaica Negril

Only the name will change at the resorts, Sadler explained.

“Same beautiful resorts. Same Caribbean hospitality. Just a new way of identifying the places your clients love,” he explained.

Fellow company executive Tony Cortizas, chief marketing officer for Unique Vacations, shed additional light on the rationale behind the new names for the Caribbean properties.

“The guest journey should feel intuitive, from the moment travelers begin exploring their options to the experience they have at the resorts,” Cortizas told TravelPulse.

“Resort names are an important part of that journey,” he continued. “These updates reflect both the distinct character of each destination and how travelers discover vacations today. As digital search behaviors evolve, clear, destination-forward names help guests better understand where Sandals and Beaches resorts are located and find the experiences they’re looking for.”

The new names also give travel advisor partners a more effective way to showcase the breadth of the Sandals and Beaches portfolio, Cortizas added.

“Ultimately, it’s about being more intentional in how resorts are presented, making each location clear from the start and creating a naming approach that supports the brands as they continue to grow,” said Cortizas.
