As the opening for the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort grows nearer, new details have begun to emerge about the Florida property's myriad features and amenities, which will include an elaborate water recreation area.

In all, the 349-room resort will feature three pools, a FlowRider Double and 24 cabanas equipped with televisions, mini refrigerators, safes and ceiling fans.

"We are taking advantage of every inch of our incredible location, situated perfectly between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway, to introduce watersports, activities and amenities that truly define the quintessential tropical destination experience," said Cate Farmer, the property's general manager.

The resort's largest pool - the 5,332-foot LandShark Pool - will feature a zero-entry zone and a 20-foot slide. Its second largest, the Lone Palm Pool, measuring in at 3,172 feet and will be equipped with a hot tub.

The cabanas will be located at the main pool area. Guest who reserve them will be able to take advantage of bottle service and special menus.

A third pool will be located on the resort's 11th floor, featuring water views and access to the License to Chill Bar.

Although an opening date for the resort has yet to be announced, Farmer said the resort is accepting reservations beginning in October.

The 17-story resort, which will undoubtedly draw Parrot Heads, was designed to appeal to a wider audience as well. "Parrot Heads are known for being incredibly passionate about the Margaritaville lifestyle, so naturally, we look forward to welcoming them to Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort," said Farmer. "But we do anticipate attracting a broad clientele because of our destination and the array of services we will provide."

She said the resort expects to draw guests from all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America. "We are also a great destination for drive markets and major gateways servicing Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport."

The property, which is located on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, will house eight restaurants and bars, including JWB Prime Steak & Seafood; 30,000 feet of meeting space; the 11,000-foot St. Somewhere Spa; and programming for kids.

It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill will be set on the Intracoastal Waterway. From this vantage point, guests will be able to access water taxis for visits to local shopping centers and attractions. Details on guided excursions and eco tours are expected to be announced soon.
