An American Airlines employee was killed in an accident on Thursday when a ground service vehicle struck a jet bridge at a Texas airport.
According to ABCNews.com, Austin Police Department Corporal Destiny Silva revealed that an unnamed American employee was involved in an accident at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport near the terminal where aircraft park at their gates.
The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time, and Austin-Travis County EMS was called to the scene, where the employee was pronounced dead. The Austin Police Department's vehicular homicide unit is investigating the incident as an accidental death.

While officials from Austin-Bergstrom International said there were no significant impacts to airport operations, FlightAware.com is reporting the facility experienced over 220 delays on Thursday.
