American Airlines, Hyatt Ending Enhanced Loyalty Partnership

American Airlines and Hyatt announced on Wednesday that they are ending their enhanced loyalty partnership, marking a change for members of the AAdvantage and World of Hyatt programs.

The travel companies said they “have mutually decided to not continue our enhanced relationship” after working together to provide additional benefits and rewards to members of both loyalty programs.

The change will not immediately impact members, as American and Hyatt said customers will see “no interruption in earning, selecting and redeeming their eligible benefits” for the remainder of the current earning year for each program.

Members who want to preserve certain benefits must link their accounts by November 15. AAdvantage members who meet the deadline can continue earning World of Hyatt awards through Loyalty Point Rewards until February 28, 2027.

World of Hyatt members who link their accounts by the deadline can continue earning AAdvantage awards through Milestone Rewards until December 31. The companies said they are committed to “preserving the benefits members can earn through the current earning year.”

AAdvantage members can continue choosing to earn 500 American Airlines miles instead of World of Hyatt points on eligible Hyatt stays by providing their AAdvantage number at check-in.
