Delta Air Lines Flight Loses Power to Engine, Makes Emergency Landing

On Thursday morning, a Delta Air Lines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Virginia after one of the plane's engines lost all power.

According to WAVY.com, Delta Air Lines Flight 5319 had just taken off for a journey from Norfolk, Virginia, to Detroit at 10:59 a.m. local time. Norfolk International Airport representative Steve Sterling said that the pilot of the plane declared an emergency at 11:15 a.m. local time.

The pilot reported that the aircraft-which was carrying a total of 62 passengers and crew members-had lost power to one of its engines and would be forced to make an emergency landing at the Norfolk airport.

Despite the loss of power to the plane's engine, the pilot still managed to make a successful landing with no reported injuries.

Officials from Delta are now investigating the incident and are working on getting all passengers impacted by the emergency to their destination in Detroit.
