Winter Storm Jonas caused major travel headaches throughout the weekend and into Monday, and people trying to hit the road or the skies Tuesday will still be facing delays and cancellations.
According to FlightAware.com, over 600 flights have been cancelled and another 167 have been delayed due to poor weather in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Some of the airports suffering the most include Newark Liberty International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport and LaGuardia Airport.
In total, an estimated 12,000 flight cancellations were attributed to Winter Storm Jonas, but there are still several means of transportation still closed. In Washington, D.C., the Metro subway system was scheduled to open Tuesday, but workers were informed to stay home.

In a report from Alexander Smith of NBCNews.com, New York City officials reported that 98 percent of the city's streets had been cleared, but citizens were reporting that many streets were still in very rough shape, causing school cancellations and delays.
In terms of snow totals, parts of West Virginia got more than 40 inches, NYC got around 30 inches and Philadelphia finished the storm with around 22 inches of snow. NBCNews.com is also reporting at least 41 people were killed during the Blizzard of 2016.
Unfortunately, Accuweather.com is reporting that some areas already impacted by Winter Storm Jonas could face more snow Friday, depending on how the current storm develops. The last thing anyone on the East Coast needs is more snow.
