On Sunday night, American celebrity Kim Kardashian was reportedly robbed at gunpoint while visiting Paris. Kardashian was not hurt in the incident, but the suspects allegedly escaped with items that included jewelry worth over $10 million.

According to NBCNews.com, Kardashian was staying at a private mansion in Paris-called Hotel de Pourtales-when five individuals dressed as police officers reportedly overtook a security guard and found the key to Kardashian's apartment.

After scouring the building for her apartment, the alleged robbers entered at around 2:30 a.m. local time, tied her up and put her in the bathroom. The suspects escaped the facility on bicycles with a ring worth about $4.5 million and a jewelry box containing other items worth $5.6 million.

Daily Mail Celebrity shared images of the rental facility Kardashian was staying:

Kardashian was staying in France for Paris Fashion Week and attended the Givenchy show Sunday night, but she left Paris Monday morning. Police were gathered at Hotel de Pourtales Monday and reportedly believe it could've been an inside job.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo shared her thoughts on the incident on Twitter:

As a result of the incident, Kardashian's husband Kanye West walked off stage during a performance in New York when he learned of the robbery.

The well-publicized incident is the latest blow to the French tourism industry that is still recovering from a recent string of terror attacks in the country. In November 2015, 130 victims were killed in organized attacks in the city of Paris, and another 86 victims were killed during an attack on the city of Nice.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Paris regional tourism board reported the city's tourism numbers have been down about 6.4 percent over the summer following the recent attacks in the country.
