Actress Selma Blair was arrested following an alleged
altercation with flight attendants aboard a Delta Air Lines flight bound for
New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday, October 11.
According to TMZ, Blair allegedly attempted to open the aircraft door
while the plane was in the air, leading to a confrontation with crew members.
She reportedly punched one flight attendant and bit another
during the incident.
The New York and New Jersey Port Authority confirmed that
two flight attendants reported injuries, with one taken to a hospital for
evaluation.
Law enforcement officers met the aircraft after it landed at
JFK, and Blair was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation, according to USA Today.
A representative for Blair said the actress experienced a
medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. The representative added
that she received immediate medical attention after landing and was in stable
condition.
The flight reportedly landed safely, with the airline
reporting no operational impact. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has
launched an investigation into the incident.
