American Cruise Lines is celebrating a key construction milestone for its newest ship, American Encore.
The riverboat passed sea trials last week and is making its month-long journey to the Pacific Northwest.
Helmed by captain Andrew Gillilan, the vessel departed from Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland and is currently cruising along the East Coast. It will sail through the Caribbean Sea and transit the Panama Canal at the end of March.
Then, it will make its way up the Pacific Coast until it reaches the mouth of the Columbia River near Astoria, Washington.
American Cruise Lines’ Columbia and Snake itineraries range from 9 to 16 days and include popular adventures in Yellowstone, Glacier, and Grand Teton national parks.
American Encore’s inaugural season will begin on May 5 and conclude in mid-November.
