Amadeus and Mexican airline Interjet have entered a full-content agreement, announced on Tuesday.

As part of the agreement, Interjet, which boarded the most passengers in Mexico last year, will adopt Amadeus Altea Reservation to reach new markets and grow its international customer base.

Interjet will make its full range of domestic and international flights, as well as published fares, bookable in all Amadeus points of sale around the world. Travel agents and corporate customers using Amadeus will have direct access to this information, complete with accurate availability of their flights and seats.

The adoption of Amadeus Altea Reservation, Amadeus' IT platform for booking and electronic ticketing, will help Interjet to meet the needs of travel agents during the booking process, become more efficient in operations and connect to other airlines, ensuring a strong experience for the customer, according to a release. It will also allow Interjet to leverage partnerships with top airlines as it continues to expand.

"We are delighted to confirm this agreement," said José Luis Garza, general director of Interjet. "We are convinced that Amadeus technology will allow us to increase our operative efficiency and make our services available for more users around the world, at the same time we consolidate our growth in both, national and international, markets."

"Interjet is a visionary company that seeks to innovate as part of its growth strategy, supporting its transformation into one of the leading carriers of the Americas," added John Dabkowski, vice president of Airline Commercial at Amadeus. "Our technology will enable travel agents worldwide to book Interjet flights in a simple and uniform way.

"Through this partnership we are able to offer more options to our platform users, and at the same time bring Interjet content to new customer audiences in international markets."

Eighty percent of airline bookings made through the Amadeus system worldwide are made via airlines that have entered a content agreement with Amadeus. More than 80 low-cost carriers have become Amadeus distribution partners. In the first quarter of 2015, low-cost airline bookings through travel agencies using Amadeus increased 19 percent, year-on-year, according to Amadeus.
