A New Way for Families to Enjoy Iceland

Iceland continues to resonate with travelers around the world and in 2017, international arrivals to the country exceeded 2 million visitors for the first time.
It’s not hard to see the appeal in the adventure-rich destination, which is an increasingly popular 'bucket-list' destination. The country is safe and easily accessible—and Iceland’s small size makes it an ideal destination for those with just a week to explore, feel like they’ve made a lifetime of memories.
Thomson Family Adventures, a tour operator selling exclusively to families, is making it even easier for families to visit Iceland with a new nine-day itinerary that traverses the island of fire and ice.
"Iceland has all the right ingredients for an adventurous and educational family trip. Its unique geography and history offer wonderful learning opportunities for children, from understanding tectonic plates to learning about the Vikings. We're incredibly excited to launch this new itinerary and meet the increasing demands for family-friendly itineraries to this incredible destination," said Thomson Family Adventures' general manager, Beth O'Donnell.
The journey is jam-packed with educational stops, including beautiful glaciers, waterfalls and geothermal fields scattered across Iceland's diverse environment.
Visitors will experience the famous Blue Lagoon, swimming in the Atlantic at Alftanes, a visit to the Strokkur geyser, snowmobiling, a walk through the Pjorsarsalur Valley, a tour through Pingvellir National Park, an excursion through the Hraunfossar Falls, a boat tour of Breioafjorour Fjord and a farewell dinner in Reykjavik.
The journey is available now for travel this summer and is recommended for children eight years and older. Prices for the eight-night itinerary start from $7,490 per adult and $7,290 per child.
