Safari in Remote Botswana With Natural Habitat Adventures

As travel to the African continentgrows in popularity, undiscovered destinations are gaining steam with visitors.

Leading sustainable travel tour operatorNatural Habitat Adventures and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) are giving travelers the opportunity to explore remote areas of Botswana and Zimbabwe.

The 10-day wildlife viewing experience gives guests a classic safari experience in a destination that is uncrowded and serene and where the animals outnumber the people.

"We are exceptionally pleased to offer this new trip that focuses on Botswana's most remote, private reserves not found on the standard safari circuit," says Ted Martens, Natural Habitat Adventures vice president, marketing and sustainability. "With a maximum of just seven travelers, the trip offers unbelievable variety far from crowds, providing the opportunity to encounter new scenes and species every day."

The itinerary goes far off the beaten path and, in addition to areas of Botswana, the journey includes Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park.

Guests enjoy game drives through the Linyanti and Hwange and search for abundant animals in the Okavango Delta by traditional dugout canoe. The journey also includes Victoria Falls, with a chance to track rhino on foot in adjacent Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

Accommodations include the luxurious Toka Leya Camp along the Zambezi River, Davison's Camp on the on the private Linkwasha Concession, the Linyanti Tented Camp on the Linyanti Private Reserve in Botswana and the Seba Camp in the Okavango Delta.

Rates start at $9,995 per person, double occupancy. Included are all activities, accommodations in luxury safari camps, the services of Natural Habitat Expedition Leaders, local guides and camp staff, top-quality open-sided four-wheel-drive Land Cruisers or Land Rovers, all meals, most gratuities, airport transfers, charter flights within the itinerary and more.

The journey begins in Livingstone, Zambia, where guests are met by the expedition leader and transfer to Toka Leya camp. Day two is spent in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park along with Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, residing at the isolated Davison's Camp on the private Linkwasha Concession for the night.

Days three and four are spent on the Linkwasha Private Concession enjoying game drives, wildlife viewing and more.

Days five through seven are at Linyanti Private Reserve, which is joined to the Okavango Delta by the Selinda Spillway. Guests enjoy thrilling four-wheel-drive adventures as well as leisure time overlooking the sights.

At Sebu Camp on the Abu Private Concession, located within a permanently dry section of the Okavango Delta, guests spend days eight and nine.

The journey wraps up on day 10, departing by air for Botswana's safari hub of Maun where guests connect with onward flights home.
