The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) has announced the launch of a new trade magazine, Travel Advisor. Formerly known as ASTAnetwork Magazine, it will launch in May of 2018.
The organization hopes this relaunched magazine meets their goal of “serving its members with relevant and compelling content and showcasing industry-leading expertise.”
“With Travel Advisor, we are marking the evolution of today’s travel professional. ASTA members are trusted travel advisors who provide exceptional value to the traveling public,” said Zane Kerby, ASTA President & CEO.
“We’re experiencing a true renaissance in our industry, making it a perfect time to celebrate this success by refocusing our editorial strategy. Travel Advisor will better serve our membership with fresh content designed for the travel professionals of today.”
Writers from around the travel world were recruited to provide content to the magazine, including: Conde Nast, Bloomberg Pursuits, CBS News, Forbes, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, Washington Post, and many more.
TravelPulse Director of Digital Content Michael Schottey will be featured in the first issue.
“Our decision to revamp our magazine is part of an overall strategy to create better content, both for our members and for the consumers we try to influence on their behalf,” said Erika Richter, Director of Communications for ASTA.
“Articles will be repackaged and republished as part of our ongoing awareness efforts with the consumer-facing media. It is exciting to see that the consumer media and, more importantly, the traveling public are embracing this shift from travel agent to travel advisor. This rebrand comes at the perfect time.”
