Amazon is once again expanding its colossal footprint, launching a flight-booking service in India.
The e-commerce giant has partnered with Mumbai-based online travel and leisure activities platform Cleartrip to offer domestic routes from Vistara UK, GoAir, SpiceJet and IndiGo, among other carriers.
"We are excited to partner with Cleartrip and share their passion of creating best in class travel experiences," Shariq Plasticwala, Director, Amazon Pay, said in a statement via Livemint. "We're delighted to add domestic flight bookings enabling customers to do more with their Amazon app and for prime members to get more value from their membership."
Amazon is promising travelers transparent pricing, the lowest cancellation fees and the seamless booking process it's become so popular for. Customers who cancel their ticket would only have to pay the airline cancellation penalty, Amazon said.
Users in India will find the flights icon on the Amazon Pay page on Amazon.com and the Amazon mobile app.
Now through the end of May, Amazon Prime India customers can even earn a one-time cashback reward of up to 2,000 rupees or $28.20 for their first booking of a value of 20,000 rupees or $285.
