Trends in travel are constantly changing. This is why Trafalgar does the research in order to stay up to date with what their travelers want.

Take a look at what's in store for 2019:

Cultural Immersion

The focus has shifted from seeing sights to having new experiences. Travelers are preferring to connect with locals instead of touring museums. Experiences such as visiting a small family business or cooking dinner in a local home can truly make for a memorable vacation.

Conscious Travel

Sustainable tourism is another big focus in 2019. Travelers are making a conscious effort to choose companies that are actively trying to be sustainable. Trafalgar's JoinTragalfar initiative works to leave destinations even better than they were when visiting them.

Off-Season Travel

After waiting in long lines and being sucked into huge crowds trip after trip, travelers are steering away from booking vacations during the peak season. Trafalgar took this into account when creating the 2019 itineraries and now have more departure dates in the off-season.

Guided Trips

The increase in interest for guided trips is also happening this year. The majority of people prefer to take the stress away by letting someone else plan the itinerary. This leaves travelers enjoying more time with loved ones in the destination and less time stressing about what's next.
