A trip to Los Cabos offers many different activities including shopping, nightlife and swimming. Travelers interested in viewing marine life will be able to do so here as well. There are several different species to see.
One of the most popular excursions in Los Cabos is whale watching. Between January and March, humpback whales and gray whales come into the bay, and visitors can spend a few hours out on a boat watching them jump in and out of the water.
Sea lions are also found in the bay. Groups of them sunbathe out on the rocks together, and they are also found following boats around in the marina. Some may even jump on the back of fishing boats if there is room in search of a spare fish. Tourists enjoy feeding them and snapping a few photos.
Los Cabos is also a place where people can swim and snorkel with the largest fish in the world, the whale shark. Even though they can be 30 feet long, they are filter feeders so people can safely swim and snorkel nearby during a guided tour.
In addition to these larger creatures, this destination also has plenty of smaller marine life. Snorkeling off the shores will allow visitors to see several types of colorful fish.
