To honor America’s 250th anniversary, The Great American Road Trip Inc., an independent nonprofit organization working in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, launched a new travel series last month.
The 6-episode production follows U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and his family as they visit seven destinations, showcasing iconic national parks, small-town communities, various transportation workers and key cities integral to the founding of the United States of America. The episodes focus on Philadelphia, Boston, Wyoming and Montana, Charleston, Texas, and Arizona.
I caught up with two members of the Duffy family to learn more about the video series.
Rachel Campos-Duffy, wife of Secretary Duffy, and Evita Duffy-Alfonso, the daughter of Secretary Duffy, share insights into what went into the decision-making process of selecting the cities, how Evita handled pregnancy while taping the show, which destinations surprised them and more.
Watch the video above for their details on the series and to see what they had to say about the possibility of a season two.
