Almost a month has passed since the first annual Playa Hotels & Resorts Spotlight Awards and there's still high-energy chatter taking place among those who were in attendance.
The weekend celebration held at Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica boasted everything from relaxing mornings to afternoon excursions (thank you, Island Routes) and lively, authentic entertainment that celebrated the destination. The events culminated with a lavish, cabaret-style gala which honored our top producing agents for the 2016 calendar year. It was the perfect chance for us to connect with our loyal partners while encouraging them to personally enjoy the product they're experienced in selling. Little did they know, they would also be among the first to relish in some of the property's recent updates and hear some exciting news from Playa Resorts.
The first noticeable upgrade is the new Barefoot Jerkz hut now located just beside the Hyatt Ziva activity pool. The bright smiles and saucy faces sitting beside are proof that the rumors are true - the food is some of the best in MoBay. Walk just a few steps from Barefoot Jerkz and you'll step foot onto a newly developed beach spanning the entire length of both resorts (it's doubled in size!).
It's proof that when guests provide feedback on TripAdvisor, we listen. Take a stroll into Rose Hall Village and you'll see a newly built theatre where nightly entertainment takes place. Walk just a few steps further into the main building of Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall and you'll be truly wowed. The original architecture remains intact yet no longer reflects the previous Ritz Carlton decor and furnishings, resulting in breathtaking hallways that leave guests with a feel of old-world luxury.

Then, the big reveal.
Like with any close family, members are the first to hear exciting news. The same stands true for Playa's extended family. Following the awards ceremony, which announced our top performers, attendees were the first to learn the news about our exciting new initiative. With smoke and excitement, Kevin Froemming, the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Playa Hotels & Resorts announced a new partnership with renowned consumer brand, Panama Jack. Joining him on stage was Kim Manna, Chief Executive Officer of Panama Jack. Together, the two provided agents with the inside scoop and a sneak peek into the new resort concept scheduled to launch in Cancun and Playa del Carmen later this fall.
