TravelPulse just announced the inaugural Travel Industry 40 Under 40.
I had the idea for it for earlier this year as a way to honor and recognize the rising talent in the travel industry.
The concept was simple – let’s select 20 travel advisors and 20 travel suppliers for a 40 Under 40 list.
It was important to me that suppliers be included in this to accurately represent the entire industry. They work hard too and deserve to be celebrated just as much as the travel advisor community.
When we launched applications, I had no expectations. I was hopeful for a great turnout, but little did I know that our team would be absolutely blown away by the many truly wonderful submissions.
Melissa Cooper, Director Marketing for Northstar’s Retail Travel Group, and I spearheaded this project. We received hundreds upon hundreds of applications within the first week and it really hit us – this was going to an intense process. But we were beyond excited to dive in!
Honestly though, we shouldn’t have been surprised at all. If you go to any major travel industry event you can easily see how great the youth movement is growing.
The incredible talent that applied made our jobs quite difficult. However, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about so many advisors and suppliers making significant impacts in the travel industry.
