New all-inclusives opened and were announced from Portugal to the Bahamas, loyalty membership partnerships  now offer more travelers ways to earn and redeem their points, and Marriott was hit with a $52 million fine for security breaches in October.

Hyatt's Inclusive Collection Expands With Opening of Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina

In early October, Hyatt celebrated the opening of its newest Inclusive Collection resort, the Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina. Located on the Portuguese island of Madeira, the 5-star resort offers 366 rooms along the scenic coastline. 

American Airlines AAdvantage, World of Hyatt Announce Loyalty Program Partnership

Members of American Airlines’ AAdvantage loyalty program and Hyatt’s World of Hyatt loyalty program will be able to link their accounts and earn and redeem miles and points for both hotel and airline rewards beginning this January. 

Choice Hotels Relaunches Radisson Individuals as Upper Upscale Soft Brand

Choice Hotels International, Inc. has relaunched Radisson Individuals as an upper upscale soft brand. An independently owned hotel brand, Radisson Individuals offer unique experiences, dining and design inspired by the region or destination. 

Marriott to Pay $52 Million for Data Security Breaches

Marriott International, Inc. was ordered by the Federal Trade Commission to pay a $52 million penalty to the 49 states and the District of Columbia for inadequate data security that led to the personal information of over 300 million loyalty members and guests being compromised in data breaches from 2014 to 2020.

Hilton and Be My Eyes Partner to Improve Accessibility for Blind or Low-Vision Guests

Hilton has partnered with accessibility app Be My Eyes to offer its services for Hilton guests who are blind or have low vision. Users of Be My Eyes can now connect with English-speaking Hilton support members to help them navigate the hotel’s public spaces, their own rooms and more. 

Baha Mar Announces Plans for New Luxury Nassau Beachfront Resort and Residences

Mega-resort Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas is developing a fourth luxury resort and residences. It’ll be located on the popular Cable Beach, with an expected opening date of 2029. It’ll offer 350 rooms and 50 branded residences, 14,000-square-foot spa and 25,000-square-feet of event spaces. 

Marriott International, MGM Resorts to Launch W Las Vegas

Marriott International, Inc. and MGM Resorts International have announced a partnership to convert an existing property on the Mandalay Bay Campus in Las Vegas into the new W Las Vegas. The new property, which be part of Marriott Bonvoy’s MGM Collection, will open late this year.
