Katie Brown is an award-winning travel agent helping real people plan unreal vacations.
She started in travel to fund her family's adoption, but her passion grew the business quickly. Brown made the leap to full-time and hasn't looked back. In four years: $6-plus million in bookings, trips to 20-plus countries, 10 destination weddings, top sales awards, and recognition as a TravelAge West "Leader to Watch." Now she leads and trains other agents while still planning incredible adventures.
The biggest difference she's made is transforming social media marketing in travel. Instead of posting pretty destination photos, Brown shifted focus to showcasing the travel advisor herself. In nine months, she grew Instagram from 5,000 to 50,000 followers by integrating personal storytelling with travel content. This resulted in over $1 million in Instagram sales in 2025 alone.

When I started in this industry five years ago, I was simply a mom who loved travel and thought a new side hustle might help fund our adoption.
