Learning Path

The course consists of two chapters that introduce travel advisors to Costa Rica, its many regions, diverse terrain and sustainable practices as well as education on travel planning.

Introduction to Costa Rica

The first chapter is an introduction to the country. It explains how to match clients to a variety of experiences in the country and introduces advisors to the country's regions, including its popular coastal areas and rainforests.

Sampling Costa Rica's Riches

The second chapter covers the philosophy behind Costa Rica's environment-focused tourism product. This chapter also discusses different types of travel, including family travel, rural tourism, cultural tourism, culinary travel, romance, weddings and more.

Learn From Anywhere

The course, available to travel advisors in the U.S., is online and can be accessed from anywhere. Advisors can access the course on both laptops and mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones.

Graduate Benefits

Travel advisors who complete both chapters of the course receive a certificate of graduation as a Costa Rica Specialist. Graduates who are members of the Travel Institute can also receive Continuing Education Units and will receive information on receiving this credit once the course is complete.
