Nearly two-thirds of Americans don't own a valid passport.
With so many U.S. travelers naming Australia among their bucket list destinations, the country's leading airline is out to ensure more Americans are eligible to travel Down Under.
Qantas has introduced a limited-time discount that essentially pays for your passport, covering both the application fee and execution fee.
Customers can search and select their international flight on Qantas.com and use the "PASSPORT" promo code now through November 28 to unlock a $135 discount on their airfare.
Even valid passport holders are eligible for the discount.
"Australia is in the top five destinations Americans would consider traveling to in the next four years, yet more than half the population do not hold a valid passport," Qantas chief customer officer, Olivia Wirth said in a statement via Mashable.
"As Australia's national carrier, we are proud and excited to share all that Australia has to offer-and with this campaign, we are keen to help boost tourism to our cities, towns and regional areas at the same time."
In addition to opening the door to travel abroad, a passport boasts several less obvious benefits, including happiness and deeper relationships.
What's more, residents in some U.S. states may soon need a passport to even board a domestic flight.
