On Tuesday, Hertz Global Holdings, Inc announced that its Hertz, Thrifty and Firefly brands will serve as the exclusive car rental providers for Air France for the next four years at least.
The partnership extension between Hertz and Air France-KLM Group marks the continuation of a 28-year business relationship. In addition to working with Air France, though, Hertz will also now be the exclusive car rental providers for the regional airline HOP! until the end of 2020.
By extending and expanding the partnership, Air France-KLM Group customers can receive a 15 percent discount on Hertz basic car rental and up to a 10 percent discount on Thrifty and Firefly basic car rentals anywhere in the world.
Air France customers will have easy access to a broad range of car rental vehicles through the Air France mobile website and app, as well as the newly launched Hertz, Thrifty and Firefly website. By promoting both brands on each website, travelers will be able to rent their vehicle and book their flight at the same time.
"Hertz and Air France have enjoyed a successful partnership for the last 28 years, helping to drive the constant evolution in seamless 'fly drive' services to customers," Hertz International Group President Michel Taride said in a statement. "Today, we are able to offer innovative car rental solutions and specific products to all Air France customers, improving their overall travel experience. Our enhanced agreement with Air France and our new partnership with HOP! will result in added benefits tailored specially for both carrier's passengers, who will also receive fantastic Hertz, Thrifty and Firefly discounts and privileges."

In addition to offering discounts for Air France customers, the Hertz and Thrifty brands have added dedicated car rental products to cater to the air carrier and its travelers, including fixed prices, unlimited mileage, no young renter surcharge, a 50 percent discount on child seats and more.
As for the customers who are part of Air France's La Premiere program, they will be met at the airport arrivals lounge in Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris or the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam by a Hertz customer service representative. Members will then be escorted to their rental vehicle.
