Many people tip their taxi driver after a speedy and safe arrival, but one man from Ireland who was visiting United Arab Emirates showed extreme kindness by taking his driver into an amusement park with him.
In a report from Amy Willis of The Metro, Liam Murphy from Cork, Ireland, was in the country for business when he decided to take a taxi to Abu Dhabi and enjoy a day of leisure at the Ferrari World theme park.
During the taxi ride to Abu Dhabi, Murphy began speaking extensively to his driver, named Shakiha. He found out that Shakiha had a family in India and was working as a taxi driver in UAE in order to send money back to them.
Shakiha also told Murphy that in 14 years of driving tourists to Ferrari World, he had never gone inside and enjoyed himself. While most tourists leave their taxi drivers outside to wait for them to return from a day of merriment, Murphy paid for Shakiha's $95 ticket and took him inside.
Together, the two men enjoyed the theme park's impressive roller coasters and the Ferrari car displays throughout the property. One attraction that Murphy and Shakiha rode together was the Formula Rossa roller coaster, which is the world's fastest coaster.
Did I mention this was Shakiha's first roller coaster ridein his life? Talk about trial by fire.
The official Twitter account of The Independent shared an image of the men on the roller coaster with Shakiha not looking like he is having as much fun as Murphy:
In a world where much of the news each day is negative, Murphy proved that treating your fellow humans as equals can help create one of the coolest memories either of these men will ever have.
