Playa del Carmen Travel Guide

Located on the scenic Mexican Coast, Playa Del Carmen is a small resort town known for its pristine beaches with light blue water and white sandy shores.

There is a wonderful range of resorts to choose from and plenty to do in the area, so you can have a relaxed holiday, an active one, or both!

Playa Del Carmen is small and walkable, so the best method of getting around is on foot. This is an easy way to get from one place to another, especially because there is no major public transport system in the town.

If you need to travel between your airport and resort, or you would prefer not to walk, taxis are available in the area. We also recommend renting a bike during your stay for a slightly quicker way of traveling around.

When To Visit Playa Del Carmen

Playa Del Carmen might have warm temperatures all year round, but the popular time for tourists to visit is winter as there is not much rainfall during this time.

If you want to avoid peak rates during the popular season, we suggest that you travel during the summer months. Keep in mind that this is the wet season, so you should check weather forecasts before booking.

We suggest planning your trip for April or May. These months lie in the shoulder season so the weather should still be pleasant and most of the crowds should have dissipated.
