Australia Travel Guide

Australia is the ultimate destination for every adventurer, explorer, and lover of beautiful things.

This country will steal your heart faster than you can say, “G’day mate!”

From blue waters to the great Outback, there’s always something to marvel at down under.

Australia is the sixth largest country in the world! There’s a lot of ground you can cover in one trip, and planning this out may seem daunting.

We’ve found that, at first glance, it may seem that trains and planes dominate travel, especially for cross-country trips. However, these costs can accumulate quite quickly.

If you don’t mind a road trip, we suggest hiring a car. This will give you the freedom to go where you want to, while the magical landscape rolls by before your eyes.

If you’re on a budget, you’ll be pleased to know that Australia’s bus system is efficient and well-equipped. While this option may take a bit longer, it will get you where you need to go.

If you’re staying in one city and want something quick and convenient, we suggest taking an Uber. It is a quick, easy, and reliable option to get you from place to place.

Time Zone

When it comes to time zones, Australia is right at the front of the queue. This country can be almost one day ahead of the rest of the world!

Note that Australia makes use of multiple different time zones. The time on your visit will depend on where you end up staying. The six main time zones are:

  • Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) UTC+10
  • Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) UTC+9:30
  • Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) UTC+8

Climate And Weather

Similar to the time zones, the climate and weather may change depending on the territory. Australia does remain consistent in being a warmer climate. This country is still subject to summer, winter, spring, and autumn. However, as you travel north, you might also want to take the wet and dry seasons into account.

While the wet season will be from November to April, the dry season takes place from May to October.

Here are the months in each season in Australia:

  • Summer:  December - February
  • Autumn: March - May
  • Winter: June - August
  • Spring: September - November
