The Puerto Rico Travel Expert education program is open to all travel advisors, and once an advisor completes the PRTE General Course, they are certified as a  Puerto Rico Travel Expert.

A Master's Course is available to further travel advisors knowledge of the destination and has its own masters certification.

Travel advisors are eligible for up to four Continuing Education Units from the Travel Institute when they complete both the General Course and Master's Course. Members of the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) are eligible for three credits.
