The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) announced a new expedited program for travel advisors seeking Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) certification by the end of 2026.
The VTA Virtual Intensive will be available to ASTA members from December 7–11, 2026.
The program includes five hours of live virtual training over two days led by Peter Lobasso, ASTA's Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Certification and Policy Enforcement, and Elizabeth Allred, ASTA’s Corporate Counsel.
Participating advisors will gain advance access to the VTA course materials and spend live sessions gaining a deeper understanding with case studies, practical examples and expert insight, ASTA said.
Afterward, enrollees will take one comprehensive 60-question exam on their own time, as opposed to the standard one exam per VTA module in the original self-paced format.
According to ASTA, advisors already enrolled in the standard VTA certification but have yet to complete it are eligible to be transferred into the VTA Virtual Intensive and complete the comprehensive exam.

Members can email [email protected] to request their transfer or report any issues using a VTA subsidy or discount through their host agency or consortium.
