The Best US Cities for Cheap Flights in 2021

Best Cities for Frequent Deals

1/11
The team of experts at Scott's Cheap Flights has once again crunched the numbers to find out which U.S. airports offer the most frequent flight deals. It recently looked at metro areas with a population of at least 300,000 people and collected data on how many deals to those cities were sent to Scott's Cheap Flights Premium members during the first six months of 2021. In addition to the number of deals, it factored in the average price and the number of departure cities that received deals to that destination. Here's a look at the 10 airports that fared the best.

10. Orlando International Airport

2/11
Scott's Cheap Flights sent its members at least 20 deals to Orlando International Airport from 46 different departure airports over the first six months of 2021. The lowest fare sent was a remarkable $58 roundtrip with the average deal coming in at a higher but still wallet-friendly $138 roundtrip.

9. Miami International Airport

3/11
Elsewhere in the Sunshine State, Miami International Airport continues to be one of the nation's best for cheap flight deals. Scott's Cheap Flights has sent 21 deals to Miami from 80 different airports around the U.S. so far in 2021, including roundtrips from Boston for $79 and Atlanta for $127.

8. O'Hare International Airport (Chicago)

4/11
Chicago's O'Hare International Airport ties Miami with 21 deals through the first half of 2021. However, the busy Midwest airport saw an average roundtrip deal of just $100. Plus, Scott's Cheap Flights found deals to O'Hare from a whopping 106 different airports across the country.

7. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

5/11
In the Southwest, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was the final destination for as many as 24 deals departing from 52 airports in the U.S. over the first six months of 2021. The average roundtrip deal came in at $111 with the lowest roundtrip deal being just $57.

6. Denver International Airport

6/11
The Mile High City ties Phoenix with 24 deals between January and June 2021 and an average roundtrip deal of $111 but edges out PHX based on a higher number of departing airports for those deals, boasting discounted flights from 78 different U.S. airports.

5. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

7/11
If traveling to South Florida, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport actually offers more chances to score an awesome flight deal than nearby MIA, based on what Scott's Cheap Flights has seen over the past six months. FLL ties PHX and DEN for the number of deals but gets the edge due to a large number of departing airports for those deals at 83. The average roundtrip flight deal Scott's Cheap Flights sent out was $149.

4. San Diego International Airport

8/11
Scott's Cheap Flights sent out 25 deals for San Diego International Airport over the first half of 2021, including roundtrip from Houston for $97 and Chicago for as low as $59. The average roundtrip deal on travel to San Diego was a budget-friendly $144.

3. McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas)

1. Los Angeles International Airport

11/11
It's fitting that LAX is the best domestic airport for cheap flights as of this summer as it's a hub or focus city for more airlines than any other airport in the country, including Alaska, American, Delta, United, JetBlue and Southwest Airlines. Its 35 deals over the first half of the year were the most of any U.S airport, with Scott's Cheap Flights members having an average of 1.5 chances per week to score big savings depending on their departure airport.
