Edgar Allan Poe lives on in numerous stops throughout Baltimore, including the Church Home and Hospital where he died in October 1849.

The details surrounding Poe's death remain up for debate though as his attending physician, Dr. John J. Moran gave contradictory accounts of the legendary writer's final moments up until his death in 1888.

You can view Poe's grave two miles west at the Westminster Burying Ground and Catacombs.

Sagamore Spirit Distillery

Sagamore Spirit recently opened a 22,000-square-foot waterfront distillery in Port Covington that's a must-visit for rye whiskey lovers.

You'll only need about an hour to tour the facility, learn about Maryland's rich rye whiskey history and sample a trio of Sagamore's finest batches. However, you'll more than likely want to stick around.

Whenever you decide to call it quits, don't forget to pick up a bottle for later.

Federal Hill Park

The best views in Baltimore await at Federal Hill Park. There are over 10 acres to explore and you won't be far from the various tourist attractions at the Inner Harbor either.

There's no better place for a picnic or a relaxing stroll on a nice day and the walkable Fed Hill neighborhood is home to a slew of bars, restaurants and shops where you can brush shoulders with locals.
