As the temperatures begin to cool, the sports calendar is just heating up.
Fall means the return of football and this season includes a wealth of highly anticipated matchups on the gridiron.
Fan favorite Formula 1 will also bring its beloved motor sports product to the U.S. for a pair of high-stakes races this autumn.
Here are the sporting events worth traveling for this fall.
Colossal College Football Showdowns
The college football season kicks off with a plethora of notable programs in the mix to lift the national championship trophy and that means a stacked fall schedule.
Airlines are already adding more flights in anticipation of large crowds for a handful of monumental clashes.

Early-season games don't get better than Ohio State vs. Texas in Austin on September 12. However, the Buckeyes' schedule also includes massive tilts with defending national champion Indiana (October 17) and Oregon (November 7).
Football fans will also want to head to Tuscaloosa to experience the next chapter of the Georgia-Alabama rivalry on October 10 and to South Bend, Indiana, for a Goliath-versus-Goliath showdown between Miami and Notre Dame on November 7.
Can't-Miss NFL Games
The professional football calendar is loaded this autumn, and one of the best cities to see the most action will be Buffalo, New York, where the hometown Bills host the Detroit Lions in their brand new stadium on September 17.
Buffalo will also host the rival Kansas City Chiefs in primetime on Thanksgiving night on November 26.

On the other side of the country, Seattle will be buzzing as the reigning Super Bowl champs host a handful of big games, beginning with a Super Bowl rematch with the New England Patriots on September 9.
Seattle will also host the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football on November 2 and play their division rival Los Angeles Rams on Christmas night on December 25.
Formula 1 Grand Prix Take Over Marquee US Cities

The highly anticipated Formula 1 United States Grand Prix will return to Austin, Texas, with an extra day at Circuit of The Americas this fall.
Taking place October 22-25, the autumn showcase will feature a new Thursday preview day in addition to live music and food, with headliners like Maroon 5, Post Malone and Alesso taking to the stage.
One month later, Formula 1 will descend on the Entertainment Capital of the World for the 2026 Las Vegas Grand Prix from November 19-21.
Fans heading to the Vegas Strip this fall can look forward to elite motor racing in addition to world-class entertainment, including live music acts, culminating with a post-race after-party performance by the Backstreet Boys at Sphere.
