Andronis Arcadia Luxury Lifestyle Hotel Opens Its Doors in Santorini

Named after the pastoral home of the Greek god Pan, Andronis Arcadia's 53 all-suite accommodations are built to accentuate the hotel's spectacular natural setting. Following the nature-foreword ideals of its namesake and, in a departure from the existing white casitas on the island, the hotel was built to blend into the cliffside. Andronis Arcadia is situated on the fringe of picturesque Oia-an easy stroll from the village center, but far enough away to ensure peace and privacy.

Design-led suites allow outdoor elements to flow into the interiors, making the most of light and space. A selection of local wood and earthy materials was used in construction and around 85 to 90 percent of the furniture and décor was handmade locally. Interiors feature mainly natural fabrics, including linen, to maintain a sense of lightness, as well as indoor succulents and plants. Décor likewise keeps largely to relatively simple geometrical designs, while built-in wall recesses preserve the minimalist aesthetic.

All 53 suites in six categories open up directly to sprawling views of the Aegean Sea, affording amazing sunset views, and come with their own private plunge pools. Accommodation options include a Two-Bedroom Villa, Four-Bedroom Villa, the six-bedroom Eden Villa, Executive Suites, Sunset Suites and Family Suites.

Designers drew upon the colors and textures of the volcano that created these islands as inspiration and used stonework heavily when constructing the hotel's exterior. The Greek-forged cement coating technique used throughout to attain a minimalistic look has existed for centuries and is part of Andronis Arcadia's deliberately rustic and earthly-luxe design scheme.

The sun spa concierge can deliver guests' favorite sun-care brands to their room prior to arrival. A bespoke in-room fitness kit, which includes a yoga mat, weights, exercise bands and an informative booklet of exercises, also awaits visitors upon check-in.

Eden Villa-the largest villa on the island-comes complete with six bedrooms spanning over three floors, plus its own mini-spa, fitness center, private kitchen with personal chef and two pools.

Fringed by a set of cabanas, the hotel's 4,800 square-foot infinity pool is now the largest main swimming pool on the island and comes complete with a dedicated sunscreen concierge.

Andronis Arcadia offers a total of three restaurants and two bars. Senses Cocktail Bar is a stylish sunset terrace serving fine drinks in a casual-luxe setting where sippers can start off their evening accompanied by ambient DJ music; while Ampelos Wine Bar assembles a collection of 1,000 fine wines from the great wine-producing countries of the world, including the island's own distinctive vintages, which get their crisp bouquet from its unique volcanic soil.

At its signature restaurant, Opson, guests are guided through a several-course tasting menu, which was developed in consultation with a classical scholar to create a contemporary cuisine experience that simultaneously captures the tastes and ingredients of Ancient Greece. Althea Restaurant showcases amazing Mediterranean seafood options, as well as local dishes incorporating ingredients grown in the Andronis gardens, while Oishii Sushi Bar fuses traditional Japanese techniques with the freshest harvest from the sea.
