Small Luxury Hotels of the World Announces Its Newest European Member Hotels

The first addition to Small Hotels of the World's distinguished roster in Europe is Austria's Hotel Das Tyrol.

Located in the midst of Vienna's cultural MuseumsQuartier and fine art galleries, and having a luxuriously lavish sense of style, Hotel Das Tyrol presents itself as an "art hotel". The walls of this boutique building are adorned with an impressive collection of original Viennese and international artworks, curated by the hotel's owner. It's just a leisurely stroll over to the Leopold Museum, which showcases classic artworks, or Mumok and Kunsthalle Wien, where more modern masterpieces are on display for spectators to soak in.

Situated on Vienna's longest pedestrian street, Mariahilfer Strasse, this hotel makes sightseeing and shopping easy. Visitors can readily wander around Vienna's famous Naschmarkt for vintage wares and delicious food. Cultural enthusiasts will also find themselves within easy walking distance of iconic venues, such as the Vienna State Opera House.

Originally built in the 15th-century on the site of a first-century Roman fortress, Il Salviatino was once a villa for an aristocratic Florentine family. Beautifully restored, and now a boutique luxury hotel, Il Salviatino preserves a true piece of Renaissance splendor. Visitors can hop the hotel's complimentary shuttle into the heart of Florence, just fifteen minutes away.

Sitting on twelve-and-a-half acres of private parkland, organic gardens and historic orchards in the rolling Tuscan countryside, each of its 44 rooms are distinctive masterpieces, fitted with authentic, artisanal detailed. Spaces feature original artworks, including marble fireplaces and 19th-century frescoes.

Housed in a luxury building just off the peaceful Piazza De' Ricci, Hotel De' Ricci is an exceptionally intimate boutique hotel comprised of only eight suites. Its location is also central within the city's most important artistic triangle, putting it within walking distance of Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and Campo De' 'Fiori.

Interiors, from the floor lamps to the wall appliques, are characterized by a retro design aesthetic that recalls the dolce vita heyday of the 1940s, featuring original vintage furniture and wall frescoes depicting iconic areas of the city and scenes from Roman life.
