By all accounts, the Female Leaders in Travel Conclave, which held its fifth annual event at the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, was a resounding success.
“I just returned from the 2023 Female Leaders in Travel conclave, hosted by the Travel Allies Society, and I do believe it was the best one yet!” said Julie Lanham of Vacations to Remember.
“I have been to this event every year since 2019 and can say with certainty that it just keeps getting better. The speakers and the content are always top notch but the attendees are what makes this special.”
She added, “It’s rare to bring 50-plus women together in a room without a little bit of conflict but here, everyone leaves their titles at the door and magic happens. We are women working together in the same industry but in different capacities, in different age groups and of different ethnicities.
“Yet, we are all the same. The camaraderie is something that I have yet to experience anywhere else and I look forward to this event more each year.”
In all, 55 leading female travel advisors from varying business models attended the event, along with an eclectic mix of host agency representatives.
Vendors included representatives from travel insurance companies, tour operators, cruise lines, hotels and resorts, destination management companies and tourism offices.
“I am beyond inspired and energized by my experience at the Female Leaders In Travel Conclave,” said Lori Speers of Levarté Travel. “It was truly an incredible event filled with inspiration, education and networking with some of the most amazing female leaders in the travel industry.
The event included two days of meeting and workshops, which also were enthusiastically received by participants.
“The panels and discussions were insightful, dynamic, and thought-provoking,” Speers said. “I came away with not only a renewed sense of purpose, but also a wealth of knowledge and new ideas for how I can continue to grow as a leader in travel.”
The keynote speaker for the event was Mary Pat Knight, founder of Leaders Inspired and author of the best-selling book “The Humanized Leader.”
In addition to the keynote address, activities included a welcome event, in the form of a themed PJ party, a roundtable discussion, an early morning beach and the annual RED Gala.
“This year’s Luminary Award was presented to Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, president and chief customer experience officer at Collette.
“I cannot wait to apply what I have learned, Speers said. “There is so much potential for us to continue to make positive change in this industry.
