Just weeks after sexual misconduct allegations were levied against officials from the Travel Leaders Group, an official trial date has been set for 2019.
The lawsuit filed by former vice president Mabelle Meyaart in February against the Travel Leaders Group, CEO Ninan Chacko and President John Lovell accuses officials of sexual harassment, wage discrimination, wrongful termination and unwanted sexual advances.
Court documents filed March 29 revealed the case will be heard starting March 18, 2019, and will continue over the course of two weeks. The judge presiding over the case will be Robin L. Rosenberg and it will take place at United States District Court in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In addition, a status conference is scheduled for February 13, 2019, and a calendar call will take place March 13, 2019. If the case is settled before it's heard by the Florida district judge, the court must be notified within two days.
The Travel Leaders Group responded to the lawsuit by calling the claims "meritless" and vowing to "vigorously" fight against the accusations.
Meyaart worked for the Travel Leaders Group from 2012 until July 2017, and she claims that in February 2017 she was at a meeting with Lovell at the Boca Beach Club hotel in Florida when he used his power within the company to leverage a sexual relationship.
Meyaart reportedly denied Lovell's advances and was subjected to retaliation and wrongful termination. The lawsuit claims she was "passed over for promotions, demoted, underpaid, had bonuses reduced over time without justification, denied salary increases, denied equal pay, defamed, unfairly criticized, propositioned for sex, harassed, and ultimately wrongfully terminated without cause."
